FAQs for Clemson Students & Families

  • So… How does this work?

    It’s pretty easy really… We collect all of the needed information. Typically, for peace of mind, we create a group text with the PARENT, the STUDENT, and us. We like to keep everyone updated! We reach out to introduce ourselves and to acknowledge the reservation. We also reach out again through text a day or two before the reservation to make sure no plans have changed. We communicate as we are en-route as well, and as we are approaching for pick up.

  • How much is it?

    Of course, for most parents, students, and families, cost is not THE most important question, but it is important. We pride ourselves on being punctual, reliable, safe and affordable. For Clemson students, parents, families, alumni, faculty and friends, our current one-way rate between Clemson and GSP is $85. There is a $10 additional charge for early morning or late night trips. There may be special pricing if traveling on a holiday as well. Tipping is optional, but most appreciated.

  • Can I share a ride with a friend?

    Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft provide customers with a rate that can be split between passengers, however, our pricing is similar to purchasing an airline ticket of a bus fare. One rate per person. However, we do offer special rates for parents or siblings traveling together. We also reserve the right to include other Clemson students, family, or friends on the same ride. We will NOT include non-Clemson associated passengers with our Tiger family on the same trip.

  • Where do you pick up from or drop off in Clemson?

    Our one-rate-fits-all includes, for the most part, personalized pick up and drop off locations for each passenger. We will pick students up at any of the dorms or other student housing locations on campus. We’ve also been known to pick up at various classroom buildings or athletic fields. Apartment complexes like Bixby, Campus View, Earle, UCentre are also easy for us, and we will even travel a bit farther off-campus (Signature Hartwell, Epoch, The Pier, The Lofts, Clemson Village, The Ridge, GrandMarc….) if needed. Just ask if you have questions.

    For parents, guests, or visiting family, we can accommodate area hotels like The Abernathy, The Shepherd Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott, Tru Hotel by Hilton, Lakeside Lodge… Again, just ask.

  • How do we recognize each other at Pick Up?

    That’s a GREAT question! We will share with you in the group text images of the vehicle. Additionally, we greet each passenger by name and introduce ourselves at pick up.

  • How do we pay? Is there a deposit required?

    In most cases, there is no need to make a deposit or to pre-pay for our services. Quite frankly, we know that travel plans change for a variety of reasons. Although most people choose to pay using Venmo, we can also accept other forms of payment. However, for some payment options like credit card or Zelle, there may be a processing fee added to your fare. At the end of each one-way trip, we will send you a link for payment. We appreciate a speedy payment after services have been rendered.

  • What if the flight is delayed?

    Another GREAT question. We will try to accommodate our passengers, to the best of our ability. When coming back in to GSP, we like to set the expectation that passengers will be picked up about 10-15 minutes after the expected flight arrival time. In most cases, if flights are delayed a little bit, we just wait…. No worry about additional charges.

    The two most common inconveniences caused by flight delays are these: If a flight is delayed more than 30 minutes AND we have other passengers already waiting to get back to Clemson, we may need to go ahead and head to Clemson and just turn around and come back to GSP afterwards. On busy travel days for Clemson, like returning from Fall Break, or Thanksgiving…. We typically have vehicles picking up at GSP about every hour or so. It may be that we just switch the passenger to a different driver / vehicle to help facilitate a quicker return to campus.

    Sometimes, when we’ve been driving all day, and a late flight gets significantly delayed, we need to cancel. We do this rarely, and only with safety in mind. It does happen, and is regrettable, but our drivers can only drive for a limited number of hours. In the past, when we know of several students on a late, delayed flight where we are unable to drive, we try to connect those students or make referrals to other companies.

  • Seneca and Lake Keowee

    We often pick up parents or families who are visiting for the weekend, and they’ve rented an AirB&B or they are staying in Seneca or at a lake house. We will gladly take you to your desired location, but for locations outside of the immediate Clemson area, the rates will be slightly higher.

  • Game Day Transportation and Special Events

    We love helping out Tiger families! We’ve been a part of Tailgates, Birthday Parties, Sorority events, Bachelorette Parties, Weddings, Golf Outings, and other special events. If you’re looking for something along these lines, contact us to see about pricing and availability.
